Helping Hands for Kazakhstan: A Call to Action

05.05.2024

In April 2024, Kazakhstan faced one of the most severe natural disasters in its history. Massive floods, caused by abrupt snowmelt and exacerbated by warm weather, struck large parts of the country, leaving behind a trail of destruction. Thousands of families, including over 16,000 children, were displaced, their homes submerged and lives disrupted.

Amidst this chaos, the children of Kazakhstan stand as the most affected. With schools damaged and daily routines halted, these young lives are caught in a pause, awaiting normalcy. They need our support not just to rebuild their lives but to restore their right to play and learn.

The floods have not only washed away homes but also the sports equipment and facilities that schools relied on to keep children physically active and engaged. With limited resources and an already strained recovery budget, replacing this equipment is not currently feasible without external help.

The School Sport Foundation has stepped forward to bridge this gap. We are committed to ensuring that these children do not lose their access to sports and physical education. However, the task is enormous and beyond the scope of any single organization. This is where we need your support. Together, we can equip these schools with the necessary sports materials to help children regain their routine, health, and happiness.

Join us in this crucial mission to bring sports back to the schools of Kazakhstan. Your donation can provide footballs, basketballs, sports kits, and more, directly impacting the lives of thousands of children. Let’s rebuild not just schools, but also the spirits of these young stars. Visit our fundraising page, contribute what you can, and spread the word. Every little bit helps!

Together, we can turn the tide for the children of Kazakhstan. Join us in laying the foundation for their recovery and future resilience.
